Move-out cleaning checklist
Plan a practical room-by-room clean before returning keys or listing a home.
Confirm the required condition with the landlord, buyer, or property manager before scheduling work. Photograph existing damage and keep any written checklist.\n\nEmpty cabinets and closets, remove personal property, and arrange disposal before cleaners arrive. Cleaning crews generally cannot remove hazardous or unusually heavy items.\n\nReview kitchens, bathrooms, floors, walls, windows, and storage areas. Ask who supplies equipment and whether inside-appliance or inside-cabinet cleaning costs extra.
